RE-COIL 150: A Non-hydraulic dropper post

Industrial Design
RE-COIL 150
This is a project done only for education purpose out of interest for the brand B'twin.
The project focuses on improving the rider's convenience of setting the right saddle height when renting a shared bike to improve the overall experience.
Simple options available but not convenient/affordable for everyone.
Majority of the shared bikes do have adjustable seatpost but in spite of that riders face difficulty in setting the correct height for them or even just changing the height is a problem. There are alternatives in the market but they are expensive.
Ideas focused more on human behavior and how they interact with daily objects. Keeping it simple and surprising at the same time!
A complete mechanical dropper post for everyday shared bikes.
The body is made from aluminum extrusion, to keep it "strong and light weight" at the same time.
Needle roller bearing occupies less space and provides larger surface area.
The positive threaded ring fitted on the inner side of the needle bearing rotates the bearing when the shaft moves up or down, converting vertical movement to rotational movement. Providing some resistance and giving a "uniform speed" irrespective of the weight applied.
Indirectly connecting your fingertips to the clamp
Also available in different types of saddles for your personal bikes!
Thanks for watching!
feedback is always appreciated
